Our Concept

Day one

Soffexpert started as an idea among a group of friends and companions who shared a common vision: to combine sustainability, style, and quality in a way that had not previously existed on the market. We talked at length about how much unnecessary resource consumption occurs daily when people buy new furniture, and how many sofas are discarded even though they are perfectly usable. We realized there was an opportunity to do something about it – and that it could also be really good for the home, the environment, and the wallet.

From day one, it wasn't just about selling furniture. It was about giving old sofas a new life. We wanted to create a concept where quality, comfort, and design are not compromised, but where every sofa can still have a second (or third) chapter in someone else's home. We started small, with a couple of sofas here and there, but our idea quickly grew as we saw how well-received it was.

Every sofa that comes to us undergoes a thorough process. We inspect it, clean it carefully, and restore all parts that need it. Each sofa is restored to almost new condition – not just so it looks good, but also so it feels as comfortable as when it was first manufactured. For us, it's important that every piece of furniture we deliver is not only environmentally friendly but also a place for new memories, laughter, rest, and social gatherings.

Over the years, we have developed our process, tested different methods, and learned what works best for both the sofa and the customer. We have pushed our concept, experimented with different ways to reuse materials, and always with the same goal: to make second-hand sofas a natural choice, not just an alternative.

We prioritize...

...transparency and responsibility. We want our customers to know that every sofa they buy has received care and expertise. We believe that good furniture should not have to be thrown away just because it's a few years old. We want every sofa to have the chance to live on, create new memories, and continue to be a part of people's homes.

We combine the best of several worlds:

  • Sustainability: Every sofa we restore is a step towards less waste and a more environmentally friendly furniture industry.
  • Economy: By choosing restored sofas, you can enjoy premium comfort and design without paying full price.
  • Design and comfort: Restored sofas do not have to compromise. Every piece of furniture is as soft, stable, and elegant as when it was first manufactured.

We are proud of our journey, but even more proud of how our customers have embraced the concept. Over the years, thousands of people have chosen to give our sofas a new home, and each time it confirms that our idea works – for the wallet, the home, and the planet.

This is more than just sofas for us. It's a lifestyle choice – a chance to make smart, sustainable, and stylish choices for your home. It's about conserving resources, reusing what already exists, and at the same time enjoying comfort, quality, and design that feels new.

So when we say our sofas have "a new life," we truly mean it. We want to inspire people to rethink furniture, to see the value in what already exists, and to understand that the best doesn't always have to be from the store.

With us, every sofa is an example of our concept: sustainable, stylish, and ready to create new memories in your home. We continue to drive this concept forward, because we know that old furniture can be some of the most valuable things in your home – if only given the chance.

Did you know that...

...the production and transportation of new sofas have a significant impact on the environment? An average sofa generates approximately 15–60 kg of carbon dioxide equivalents (CO₂e) during its lifecycle, including material production, transport, and manufacturing itself, with an average around 37.5 kg CO₂e. Variations depend on the material the sofa is made of, as well as the energy intensity of the production process. source

Globally, the furniture industry accounts for approximately 2% of total carbon emissions, with the majority of emissions occurring in the supply chain, i.e., before products even reach the store floor. Over 80% of emissions from a sofa come from Scope 3, which includes raw materials, production, and transport. This means a typical two-seater sofa can account for about 90 kg of CO₂e over its entire lifecycle. source

These figures clearly show why reuse and restoration of furniture have great environmental potential. By giving old sofas a second life, the need for new production is reduced, and thus the emissions that occur during the manufacture of new furniture. Buying restored sofas is therefore both a sustainable and climate-smart choice. source
